Hey Mike. I was wondering why do you use kanthal and not ss? I've tried both and ss gives a better flavor. There are 2 sides when it comes to ss. One is that it's dangerous and could produce some toxic fumes and the other that it's safe. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks!
Nice review but ya I agree with most people on here. 4 or 5 years ago I would've gave this a serious look. I think there's only a fraction of people willing to pay that for a pinoy mod now. Especially an unregulated box mod. I still have my authentic stingrays and Akuma mods but there's just not the value in them anymore. Not when you can grab a nice regulated 200 Watt mod for $50 nowadays. I'll still pay $200 for a mod. But it'll be something like the sx mini g class or therion mods.

This mech mod looks like all those mech boxes from 2013 and 2014 that looked cool but would misfire half the time and within a few months the fire button or the contact plate would finally give out. I've had several and they all had big problems. Too many parts, too many places that that have require super-precise tolerances. Too many hard to reach places. Too much of a hassle to replace the batteries. This thing looks like someone took the basic design of the Dmitri and decided to make it look like Optimus Prime and sell it for $200.00. Buy this at your peril…

why are mec mods so expensive? you would figure that with the lack of a chipset and aditional protections it would actually be cheaper. its like paying extra for a car without power windows.
I heard about this mod by seeing the reviews on YouTube and decided to deal directly with GI Mods on Facebook. Ryan Cunanan seemed nice enough and said he only took Western Union. Two weeks ago I sent him $180 not believing that he could possibly be a scammer. To my shock and dismay he completely stopped responding to messages. I thought he must be busy after one week or something so I waited and posted a message on his FB page, politely asking him to reply. Since he's still posting to FB I know he's not on vacation. This is just to let everyone know that this guy is no good. I wouldn't buy anything from this company no matter how nice it is.
Here in our country it cost only 4,200 in Peso money or $86 it looks like the shipping outside the Phils . cost it at much as $180 dollars but overall its a good full mechanical box mod .. if you are a newbie go for variable mods but if not go for this mechanical mod ..
