I think with the tax they are sort of taking advantage of Vapers desperation to keep flavors. I view Taxes like this as Sin Taxes. It effects the poor and elderly who may go back to cigarettes if they are more affordable.

Hi from South Africa, the laws make sense as opposed to a ban. The increase in tax just proves what vapers have been saying all along and that is governments world wide have been feeling the pinch from the loss of smokers suffered by Big Tobacco.
Honestly… There is no reason for this "extra tax" and it should be challenged. Is "Coffee" etc. banned from children drinking, or is a "high risk" substance like Smoking? Vaping has zero risk, save the illicit kind. Thus why is there being a "sin tax" on it? Government, Leftist Government is corrupt.

We still need a convergence regarding the controversial issues of a regulatory framework that both, the vaping industry and the government, can live with. Namely the underage vaping "crisis", the Juul and salt nicotine devices in general, taxes and especially the ongoing claim of anti-vaping hypocrites that flavors are targeting kids. My 65 years old aunt vapes on "Blue Raspberry & Cotton Candy". I (59) switched to vaping with "Peanut-Vanilla Waffle", "Strawberry Custard" and Pistachio Ice Cream". I tried several tobacco flavors and they didn't do it for me. I thought they were awful. Flavors that appeal to adults may appeal to minors as well. So what!?! Do we ban all adult products because they may be equally appealing to the underage? We would have to shut down MacDonalds, and ban all ice creams and candies. Actually this would be a very long list.
I would love to ask the government how much more research they think is necessary before they'll able to make an educated decision regarding the regulation of vapor products. Are several hundred studies in over 12 years not enough? If not, how much more would be enough? And how long is long-term?

It's great to hear that there's hope for the technology to save lives from the most preventable cause of death. It's a relief to hear President Trump is willing to listen to reason and to actually meet with top industry professionals, physicians, etc… to possibly come up with logical solutions to hopefully be a win win situation. (Minimizing teens accees while keeping flavors for those of us who need/enjoy it and are of legal age to consume.) I think a majority of the community can agree some regulation is called for. Here's are my Ideas for regulations: -Restrict all pre made/mixed e-products, devices sold at conenience stores to Vape Exclusive Outlets only. Elimination from Convenience stores demonstates we as a community are pushing harder than tobacco to make it inaccessible to the youth to purchase, showing the government and the non smoking/vaping public we are willing to comply for a safer youth. -Raise age of Vaping/Tobacco sales to 21 in the US. (To follow suit with Alcohol and Lottery regulations) Also, it appears that seens to be agreed to be the proper age for adult decisions. -Online sales will require ID. I've ordered from a couple of sites that require 2 pictures to be sent to them, One a pic of your ID and the other a pic of you holding your ID for verification purposes. I support that practice. Same requirement applies to vendors that offer PG/VG/Flavor Concentates, Nicotine, (for us DIYers) and devices. -All parcels for online sales shall be labeled as an E-Product/Vaping product. This way the Delivery service/post office won't deliver. Instead they will leave a deliver form/letter to have to be picked up by the purchaser with required ID at your local post office. Again making extremely difficult to access for those that may use parents ID and to show the non user public stricter enforcement while still making accessible to the proper purchaser. -Don't tax like tobacco, because it's not tobacco. Instead maybe incur a reasonable handling fee at the post office (government agency) for the extra work the post office will have to endure and will be allowing the government to collect some revenue in a way without officially naming as a tax. (So it can't be taxed higher later by law). -Follow UK suit for premade/mixed juices on Nicotine level.
Sorry to those in the 18-21 range. I believe these proposed regulations could save the industry, simply for the fact that the opposers have a difficult time getting their way with the ban because of medical professional statements and evidence, they are now trying to target the youth epidemic to get the ban across.
I realize this won't solve all issues, like Tobacco and Alcohol to minors in the past and present, but I believe it will be tougher than the other two, justifying it's a safer alternative and showing we as a community are just as concerned about our youth.
I probably wouldn't mind the tax as much if it didn't seem like a suspicious cash grab to make up for the loss in cigs. They claim they still don't fully "understand" the effects of vaping, but want to tax people for awareness and prevention? ?

Here in PEI they raised the age for tobacco and vaping to 21 and a total ban on flavors…. Vape stores will only be able sell tobacco sales….. And this government didn't listen to the vapors here at all… The MLA that brought this thru has blocked all ways of contacting him from vapors…. It wasn't till people went to his social media and use extreme violence in words against him that he finally heard us…. But still not listening to us….

The only law i dont agree with on this list is the 20mg/ml nicotine limit, other than that it looks good.
