Great hack but they make silicone bottles for 2 bucks. I guess I would have to see if the two dollar bottles are worth it and if they’re not then pull out my Dremel. Great idea though!! You rock
I do like the silicone/soft bottles like that but their system is still pretty nice imo. Still a cool modification though. Just to mention — it'd be better w/ either a smaller, metal cut-off wheel or preferably a stone on the Dremel. And that annoying point tip on the straw is supposed to be so you do not accidentally get the squonk to choke up due to the liquid pressure pulling it closer to the bottom of the tank. I think it's a dumb reason, as I never really had those problems. But that's supposed to be why (from what I understand). It also makes replacement easier to start (for the straw).
Why. It worked so well the way it was.
Silicone bottles aren't really better than harder plastic.
Silicone bottle with one fill up. After the initial fill / and use for one week. drain it out and set aside for a week. Yes with a good clean.
Do this with one silicone and one plastic.
After a week or so of drying them out cut them both in half and inspect the material and see why silicone ain't that good to use.
You'll be surprised as to how sticky and let's say turned back into a incited rubber state the silicone will be.
It's actually pretty sickening.
I won't get silicone bottles anymore.
And it only took me pampering my RSQ squonk mod to realize this. ????

In Germany you can buy a Silicon Bottle for the Luxotic Bf, i bought one for 4 €, without "Dremel" the Luxotic 😉
I recommend that you pre-sawing that tiny tube before you cut it just to make sure that the blade does not slip and mess your mod 🙂
