the problem is pretty clear from this video. we either need to do 1 of 2 things. either prohibit the sale of vape products from all locations except for verified vape shops or crack down harder on locations that sell to minors. I mean I didn't even know it was so easy but watching this video I feel like I could shave to make myself look 12 again waltz and walk out with a pack of pods, which should not be the case. I think the police should take more time every couple of weeks doing an undercover operation like you guys did here to see which stores are ones to keep an eye on and go after.
A major problem is 18 year olds in school buying pods for underage kids. There isn’t really a way for anybody to do anything about it other than schools coming down harder on it.
Flavors have nothing to do with youth vaping. You could make JUUL pods in "Sweaty Jock Strap", or "Moldy Bread" flavors, and kids would still vape them, because they are using them for the buzz, not the flavors…
I just got a few bottles of juice online and the site I bought it from never asked my age even though I got the product. It’s really easy for underage people to get a hold of this stuff.
I live in Chicago and just shy of 19. I started smoking tobacco products at 15 and vaping at 18. Vaping has helped me slowly curb my addiction. Ever since the age restriction got raised a few months back I’ve had no other choice but to go back to smoking tobacco. I absolutely hate that I’m forced to go back to cigs after i started making progress.
In the town I live in every single convenience store/ gas station dont bother asking for id, but the vape shop cards everyone unless you're someone who comes in on a weekly basis.
